## Overview

This tool copies diagnostic tests and panels from one organization to another, so you can seed a new client organization from your master panel list instead of recreating every test by hand. It sits on the same page as **New Diagnostic Test**, under the heading **Copy Panel/Test to Another Organization**.

## Prerequisites

1. You are signed in as a **reseller owner**. The page is owner-only — any other role is redirected away.
2. You know the **source org id** whose tests you want to copy. `0` is your master panel list.
3. You know the **target org id**, and that organization already exists.

## Workflow

1. In the sidebar, open **Diagnostic Tests  and Panel** → **New Test or Panel**. (The page header reads **New Diagnostic Test**.)
2. Scroll down to **Copy Panel/Test to Another Organization**.
3. Fill in the form:

   | Field | What to enter |
   |-------|---------------|
   | **Source Org Id** | The organization to copy from. Defaults to `0`, your master panel list. |
   | **targetOrgId** | The organization to copy into. Must be different from the source. |
   | **Overwrite existing panels in target org** | See [Overwrite vs add missing](#overwrite-vs-add-missing) below. |

4. Submit. The page reports how many rows were copied and how many were deleted.

## Overwrite vs add missing

Panels are matched by **panel name**, and the match **ignores case** — a target panel named `CBC` matches a source panel named `cbc`.

- **no - add missing panels only** (the default) — panels whose name is already in the target are left alone. Only panels the target does not have are added. This is the safe choice and never deletes anything.
- **yes - replace matching panels** — for every panel name present in both organizations, the target's tests under that panel are **deleted** and the source's tests are copied in their place.

> **Replacing cannot be undone.** The replacement tests are written as new rows with **new ids**, so the tariff rates and accounting item linkage of the old tests are not carried over — you have to re-enter the rates and re-link the accounting items. Reported results and service requests already recorded against the old tests are not affected by the copy itself.

To change the result messages you see:

- **Tests copied successfully** — at least one panel row was copied.
- **Nothing to copy - the target org already has these panels** — the copy had nothing to do. With overwrite off, this means every source panel name already exists in the target.

## Common Issues

**The copy says "Nothing to copy - the target org already has these panels".**
Expected, not an error. With **Overwrite existing panels in target org** set to *no - add missing panels only*, there is nothing to add. Switch to *yes - replace matching panels* if you want to refresh those panels from the source.

**Tests were copied but the tariff rates or accounting items are empty.**
That is what replacing does — the tests are new rows with new ids, so their rates and accounting linkage must be re-entered. See [Overwrite vs add missing](#overwrite-vs-add-missing).

**The copy failed or the request errored — is the target org half-updated?**
No. The delete and the inserts run in a single transaction, so either the whole copy applies or nothing does. Re-check the source and target org ids and submit again.

**"targetOrgId is required" or "sourceOrgId and targetOrgId must be different".**
The target org id was left blank, or the target equals the source. Enter a different, existing organization id.

## FAQ

**Q: Does copying overwrite my existing panels by default?**
A: No. The form defaults to *no - add missing panels only*, which never deletes anything.

**Q: Can I undo a replace?**
A: No. The old tests are deleted and replaced by new rows with new ids. Re-enter tariff rates and accounting links if you need them back.

**Q: Are panel names matched case-sensitively?**
A: No. Matching is case-insensitive, so `CBC` and `cbc` are treated as the same panel.

**Q: What does source org id `0` mean?**
A: It is your master panel list — the set of tests and panels you maintain centrally and copy into client organizations.

**Q: Who can use this feature?**
A: Only a reseller **owner**. Other roles cannot open the page.
