## Overview

Getting started with NICE HMS takes just a few minutes. This guide walks you through organization registration, admin user creation, and your first login.

## Step 1: Register Your Organization

1. Visit the [Free Register](/free-register) page.
2. Fill in your organization details — name, type (clinic/nursing home/hospital), address, and contact information.
3. **Important:** Double-check your email and mobile number. The password setup link is sent to the email you provide. If the email is wrong, you will not be able to complete registration and your effort filling the form will be wasted.
4. Submit the registration form.

## Step 2: Create Your First User (Admin)

After registration, you will receive an email with a confirmation link. Clicking this link takes you to a page where you create the first user for your organization — this user automatically gets the **Admin** role.

- **Email** — Used for login and password recovery
- **Name** — Full name of the admin user
- **Mobile** — Used for notifications and support

## Step 3: Registration

All new organizations can register for free. Registration allows login only — no HIMS features (OPD, IPD, Pharmacy, Lab, Billing, etc.) are accessible until you subscribe to a paid plan and make payment.

## Step 4: Upgrading Your Plan

To unlock the full HIMS:

1. After login, you land on the **Admin** page.
2. Click the **Upgrade** button to go to the [Pricing](/pricing) page (now in logged-in state).
3. Select the plan that fits your organization, calculate the price, and complete payment.
4. Once payment is confirmed, full HIMS access is unlocked immediately.

## Step 5: Password Management

- **Initial password:** NICE HMS generates a secure random password for each new user.
- **Password storage:** All passwords are encrypted and hashed in the database.
- **Forgot password:** Visit the [Forgot Password](/auth/forgot-password) page, enter your email, and follow the link sent to your inbox to reset your password.

**Q: What happens after registration?**
A: You can log in but cannot access any HIMS features. To unlock the full platform, subscribe to a paid plan from the Admin page and complete payment.

A: Yes, contact support or use the Admin panel to update organization settings.
