## Overview

**Sign in with Google** lets you log in to NICE HMS with your Google account instead of typing an email and password. It is an *extra* way to sign in, not a way to create an account — your NICE HMS account must already exist and be active.

## Where is the button?

The **Sign in with Google** button appears on the login pages, just below the email/password form:

- Staff login: `/auth/login`
- Whitelabel login: `/authw/login`
- Reseller login: `/reseller/login`

Click it and choose the Google account whose email address matches your NICE HMS account.

## How it works

1. On the login page, click **Sign in with Google**.
2. Google asks which account to use — the account chooser always appears.
3. Pick your account. NICE HMS matches the account by the **email address** on your Google account.
4. If an active NICE HMS account has that email, you are signed in and land on **Admin** (staff) or the **reseller admin** page (resellers).

The email on your Google account must match the email your administrator used when creating your NICE HMS user.

## Who can use it

- **Staff:** the email must match an active user in your organization.
- **Resellers:** the email must match an active reseller account, and you must start from the reseller login page.

## Google is an extra credential — no self-signup

You cannot create a NICE HMS account with Google. If no account exists for your Google email (or the account has been deactivated), sign-in fails with:

> Sign-in with Google failed. Use your email and password, or contact your administrator.

Ask your administrator to create the account — or reactivate it — using the same email.

## Common Issues

**The account chooser keeps defaulting to the wrong Google account.**
Sign out of Google in your browser, or choose **Use another account** in the chooser.

**I am both a hospital owner (staff) and a reseller.**
Use the login page that matches the account you want: `/auth/login` for your staff account, `/reseller/login` for your reseller account. You hold one session at a time per browser, so signing in on one surface signs you out of the other.

**It fails on a whitelabel domain.**
Each domain must be registered with Google for this feature. Contact support if the button works on `nicehms.com` but fails only on your custom domain.

**I normally sign in with a password — does this change anything?**
No. Email and password sign-in continues to work exactly as before.

## FAQ

**Q: Does Sign in with Google create a new account?**
A: No. It only signs you in to an account your administrator already created with the same email.

**Q: Can I still use my password?**
A: Yes — your password continues to work. Google is simply an alternative.

**Q: Why is the failure message so generic?**
A: NICE HMS shows the same message whether the account does not exist or is inactive, so it never reveals which email addresses are registered. Check that your administrator created your account with this exact email.
