One of the most repetitive and time-consuming tasks in any hospital is writing discharge summaries. Many doctors find it tedious, and documentation errors are unfortunately common.
With our new AI-generated discharge summary feature, Nice HMS automatically creates a detailed draft by analyzing patient data and diagnostic reports. This smart assistant groups all relevant records from the current admission and previous visits, identifies key findings, includes abnormal lab results, prescribed medications, clinical notes, chronic conditions, and other important historical data. The goal is to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and streamline your workflow.
How to Use the Feature:
1. Go to the Discharge Summary page.
2. At the top, you’ll see a green-colored table with a button — click it.
3. Another green button labeled **"Generate AI Discharge Summary"** will appear — click it.
4. The AI will then gather and analyze all relevant patient records.
5. The generated summary will appear in the editor below.
Doctors are expected to review the generated content, make any necessary edits, add discharge medications and follow-up instructions, and then click Submit.
This feature significantly improves the efficiency of discharge processes and enhances documentation quality — making hospital workflows smoother and more reliable.
