Bed Management

Overview

The Bed Management module gives you a real-time view of every bed — occupied, available, reserved, cleaning, or under maintenance. It integrates with IPD admission and transfer workflows.

Bed Statuses

Beds can be in one of five statuses: Available, Occupied, Reserved, Cleaning, or Maintenance. See IPD Bed Transfer for the full status reference and how statuses change during patient transfers.

Adding Wards and Beds

1. Go to Admin > Bed Management.
2. Click Add Ward.
3. Configure ward name, room category (General Ward, Semi-Private, Private, ICU), and daily room rate.
4. Under the ward, click Add Bed and enter bed numbers.
5. Set initial status to Available.

Bed Occupancy Dashboard

View from IPD > Bed Status:

• Color-coded map: Green (Available), Red (Occupied), Yellow (Reserved/Cleaning), Gray (Maintenance)
• Click a bed to see patient details

Changing Bed Status Manually

Admins can change status directly from the dashboard without going through admission/discharge. Add a note (e.g., "Under maintenance — AC repair").

FAQ

Q: How is room charge calculated? A: Based on the ward's daily rate x number of days occupied. Rate changes on bed transfer are pro-rata.

Q: Can I bulk-import beds? A: Yes, during implementation. Contact support.
